Also, in late 2008, Cameron entered into a joint agreement with Alcoa Oil and Gas, under which the companies will develop drilling riser systems with high aluminum content. Such lightweight riser systems are expected to extend the capabilities of existing drilling vessels in both niche and mainstream applications. Combined, the EVO BOP, SPA accumulator and aluminum riser systems will give Cameron the ability to provide the lightest drilling equipment packages in the industry.
